Exhibitors Needed for 2010
Kingston Home Show Kinsmen are holding their 8th annual Home Show April 9, 10, 11, 2010 at the Cataraqui Sports Complex, Sydenham Rd. at the 401. Kinsmen have joined CKWS TV, Lite 104.3 FM., Kingston 96.3 FM and The Kingston Whig Standard in a Marketing Partnership. The 22nd Annual Kinsmen Dream Home Draw will be held at the conclusion of the Home Show and will feature the Home Show in it’s extensive ad plan. Last year the show became Kingston’s biggest home show with 120 exhibitor booths on two icepads. Come join our show now and guarantee yourself preferred location and participation in the future. Kin Donate $225,000
We’ve rolled up our sleeves and made a huge donation to the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation of $225,000 over 3 years. This money will go directly to the Kinsmen Youth Mental Health Unit at the KGH Hospital.
Kinsmen & KEC Throw a Party for Seniors
Helping seniors has always been part of the Kinsmen mandate. In addition to helping seniors with a fixed income find somewhere to live, this year the Kinsmen with the help of KEC we’re able to give some local seniors a Christmas party they will cherish forever. The night included a nice meal, singing carols, and a chance to meet some of the faces of Kinsmen.

$30,000 Donated to Local YMCA
Kingston YMCA
Your local Kinsmen have donated $30,000 to the Kingston Family YMCA to help send kids to summer day camp at J.G. Simcoe School.
The YMCA is one of the leading charities in Kingston, serving the needs of all the community – young or old, rich or poor. Last year, the Kingston YMCA waived more that $77,000 in fees for membership, child care and summer day camps. This enabled them to deliver over 1,300 assisted camper days to those children who would not otherwise be able to attend. Here is what one family has said:
My granddaughter Andrea has had some of the best times in her memory at the YMCA summer camp. Andrea has a disability and is delayed. The staff at the camp placed her in an appropriate age group and managed her needs beyond anything I expected. She looked forward to going daily. It’s hard to find a suitable placement for Andrea and the Staff has been great with me also. I raise Andrea and finances are tight. I can’t thank the YMCA enough for all the help they have given us. – Barbara
Although YMCA asks each family to contribute something to offset the camp fee, it still costs the YMCA about $100 per child per week to have some of the neediest children attend their camp.
April 2010 Dream Home Draw Details
We are working hard on next year’s draw. This year we have an amazing house being built by MacAdam just west of the city. We are aiming to have tickets on sale by Dec 2009. I’ll provide more details once the draw kicks off, in the mean time check out this website:

This fall, the Kinsmen Club of Kingston will be putting on another amazing show at the Grand Theatre. The Wizard of Oz.

First General Meeting
The Kingston Elderly Citizens (KEC) are hosting a Fish Fry BBQ in conjunction with our First General Meeting for this Kin-year Thursday Sept 3rd.
