Why is it that the dream homes always seem to be 2 bedrooms? You are excluding a fairly significant population (families with more than 1 child) from ever having any interest in the draw/home. I won’t be buying a ticket again this year….

Hi Jason, sorry to hear you aren’t happy with this year’s house. I’ll pass your comment along to the Dream Home committee.

You should also realize that you can just sell the house after you win it, and buy whatever your dream home might be.

We have made the last couple of dream houses 2 bedroom bungalows simply because they look nicer.

We are a group of volunteers that take all of the proceeds of the draw and donate them back to local organizations and charities.

I hope the number of bedrooms doesn’t deter you from supporting our local fundraiser.

I agree with the above poster. I will still buy a ticket this year but to me it doesn’t make sense to give away a house with just 2 bedrooms.

I agree with Mark Donovan’s comments. I never personally enter lotteries with the anticipation of winning only knowing that I have supported worthy causes. If I do happen to win then that is simply a bonus. Mark states quite clearly that for the lucky winner, they are free to either keep or sell the house.

I understand why people want a house with more than 2 bedrooms. However, with more money invested in the house, there will be less money going to the charitable cause. Since the winner gets the house free ( other than the ticket price)and a bungalow usually has a large basement, it is still a very good deal for one to put one or two bedrooms in the basement.

Just wondering is the flooring hardwood or enginered thanks

I’ve toured this year’s Dream Home. First, it’s gorgeous walnut hardwood. Second, Rita is correct, it does have a large, bright basement that can be finished with an additional bedroom. I believe there is also a rough-in for a bathroom.

This is a charitable cause. Rather than feeling excluded because it’s a two bedroom home, buy a ticket and support those who actually have a right to feel excluded (i.e. the children who receive some of the generated funds because their families can’t afford to enroll them in recreational activities; the children who are excluded from regular activities due to health issues, but who may be receiving help thanks to medical equipment purchased through support of this draw). Remember, if you don’t like the house and are lucky enough to win it, you can always sell it and use the $500K to go towards more bedrooms in your own dream home.

I heard that you have to live in the house for a year before you can sell it. That’s not true, is it?

And I agree, this is about charity, if you have the good fortune to win it, sell it! :D

I really like the furniture in this house, where is it from?

I feel truley blessed being one of the lucky ones who can even purchase the $150 ticket, and be given the chance to play! Many who very much need a home don’t have that type of disposable income. It is a charitable draw, so many in our community will be given opportunities and care they wouldn’t have otherwise recieved, and it is my hope that a family who genuinely wants a home of there own, but couldn’t manage it otherwise will win! Good luck to everyone!

Does the house come furnished? It looks gorgeous! Is this the last weekend for an Open house or will it be open next weekend as well?

I took a tour of the dream home and purchased a ticket – even though I could not afford to do so. I very much would like to win this home – and live in it. The chance to move out of an apartment and into a beautiful house is truly a dream…

This is truly a beautiful house and a terrific prize! I find it remarkable that anyone would say anything negative about it. To win would be a fantastic experience. I have my ticket. Do you?

I think 2 bedroom bunglows are just fine… If you want
more than 2 refinish the basement and add more bedrooms
downstairs… Congratulations to all this years winners…
