Helping seniors has always been part of the Kinsmen mandate. In addition to helping seniors with a fixed income find somewhere to live, this year the Kinsmen with the help of KEC we’re able to give some local seniors a Christmas party they will cherish forever. The night included a nice meal, singing carols, and a chance to meet some of the faces of Kinsmen.
Here are some of the pictures of tonight’s festivities:

This past weekend I was fortunate enough to attend the Annual Kinsmen National KINvention. This event is a great opportunity to communicate with like minded volunteers from across our organization. The weekend was filled with exceptional keynote speakers, grand receptions and information packed seminars.
Two main themes were discussed. First, the National 20/20 initiative. This is a two pronged approach for both establishing awareness of all things “Green” as pertaining to Kin, as well as looking forward to try to recruit newer younger members. The second theme involved looking at how technology can improve communication for a volunteer organization. The Kinsmen have opened up a Facebook form and would like you to join!
